How can we help you today?

Working at SVABA offers a variety of personal and professional benefits.

Benefit to our Learners: Do you want to make a difference in your community? SVABA is focused on making a significant impact on improving the quality of life for our learners. Families of children with autism can also face significant challenges and stressors. The work we do benefits not just our learners, but also their families, their school settings, and the quality of their interactions with their peers and others in the community. We are passionate about making meaningful changes in their long-term outcomes.

Benefits to our Staff: Behavior Technicians receive monthly training, mentorship, and overlaps on each case from the clinical team. This training is highly beneficial to our team members, supporting them in their daily activities. Additionally, SVABA provides an ideal training environment for those interested in making ABA a career. There are several promotion opportunities available within the company.

  1. A new team member is usually hired as a Behavior Technician (BT). No experience is necessary to be hired as a BT. Once hired, a BT receives 40 hours of training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). They will be assigned specific learners with whom they will work (and play), and receive immediate and ongoing on-the-job training.
  2. ll BTs receive continual, ongoing training and support as they work toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®). This is a certified position earned by passing an exam through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) and is the first promotion available to our staff.
  3. The next opportunity for promotion is the Senior RBT. Our Senior RBTs have been an RBT for at least 2 years and work directly with their supervisors to build their leadership and clinical skills. Once these competencies are met, they are promoted and can assist the clinical team with on-the-job training and mentorship of other RBTs.
  4. The fourth level of promotion available to staff at SVABA is to become a Case Supervisor (CS). The CS is an RBT with several years of experience who has earned at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field. The CS works closely with all team members. They are primarily responsible for the supervision of staff, evaluating progress toward goals, demonstrating skills for caregivers, and reporting to Case Managers.
  5. All Case Managers (CM) have earned a Master’s Degree in either Psychology or a related field, and are equipped with several years of experience in the field of ABA. Additionally, each CM is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®). They are responsible for initial and ongoing assessment, program development, and behavior support plans. They are also responsible for staff training and development and caregiver training. Senior CMs are responsible for a caseload of learners and also provide support and training to other CMs. They create and conduct formal training for all staff.

At SVABA, we listen!

At SVABA, team member and family surveys are sent out quarterly to get feedback from all stakeholders and this feedback is considered when making strategic decisions within the company. This formal feedback opportunity is only the beginning. The clinical team at SVABA works extremely hard to keep the lines of open, respectful communication open at all times. The clinical team understands they can only do their job thanks to the hard work of the BTs. The way they see it, it is their job to make your job easier! The easier it is to do your job, the more progress our learners will make!
